When to File?
If you were an employee and received wages subject to U.S. income tax withholding, file
Form 1040 NR-EZ by
April 15, 2008. If you were an international student and did not receive income, you must file
Form 8843 by
June 15, 2008.
Efile
Nonresident aliens are currently not allowed to efile their tax returns. All tax forms must be mailed to the IRS.
Where to File?
All nonresident tax returns must be mailed at the Internal Revenue Service Center, Austin, TX 73301-0215, U.S.A.

here to find out the status of your tax refund. If you have not received your refund within 28 days from the original IRS mailing date, you can find the status of your refund online.
Extension of Time to File
If you cannot file your
Form 1040NR or
Form 1040NR-EZ by the due date, you should file
Form 4868 to receive an extension of time to file. You must file
Form 4868 by the regular due date of the return.
Foreign Nationals
For foreign nationals filing Form 1040 NREZ other than international students and scholars we recommend the use of
Global Tax Services to prepare their nonresident tax returns.

State Taxes
If you have received income from U.S. sources, in addition to filing your federal tax return, you must also file
state taxes. Some states do not require you to file a state tax return, while others offer free filing services for their taxpayers.
